NBA AM: Markieff Morris on the Move? | Basketball Insiders | NBA Rumors And Basketball News

The Morris twins had each just signed an extension to remain with Phoenix, but the agreement was very unique. Rather than signing the two players separately, the Suns allotted $52 million to re-signing the twins and allowed the brothers to decide how they’d split the money. At the end of the day, Markieff ended up with a four-year deal worth $32 million and Marcus received a four-year deal worth $20 million.

Compare a parade to a Rockets team where the biggest problem is they party too much
It's a birthday party not a nightclub. This a bonding experience for a team that seemed like it had multiple factions that despised each other. They've won 4 in 5 and are back in the playoff spots. He's been there for 4 years he knows what he's doing.

Seems like their shortening Hinkie's rope
Looks like I was right, this is from Woj's article on the situation

Sources: Despite front-office change, 76ers discussing extension for coach Brett Brown

"Ownership short-circuited Hinkie’s tanking process on Monday, inserting Colangelo, 76, as the special adviser to the managing general partner and chairman of basketball operations.

Sixers management lost patience with the third year of Hinkie’s tanking process, triggered in recent weeks by a 1-20 start to the season and several high-profile incidents involving No. 1 pick Jahlil Okafor."

"Colangelo was a longtime executive with the Phoenix Suns, but hasn’t been around a day-to-day front office in two decades. He’s been running USA Basketball for a decade.

It is immediately unclear how long Hinkie will want to stay on the job with reduced power in the organization, and several league executives were already wondering on Monday if Colangelo would eventually persuade ownership to hire his son, Bryan, a former general manager with the Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns, into a high-ranking team position."

well since he can't bench anyone else on that starting line-up, makes sense so they can still play together and get more chances with Clarkson & Kobe not being on the floor with them

I asked for those two off the bench at the start of the year. Not for fukking Lou Williams though. Move Clarkson and Kobe to the guard spots and have Brown at SF. Nance will probably help in the starting unit because he can actually hit a jumper.

Randle should thrive off the bench; Russell probably will too since he won't have to defer to Kobe as much.

To me, benching them means nothing if you keep playing them with the same players. Clarkson and Russell shouldn't share minutes, and Randle needs to play with a stretch big. If you do that then maybe they have a shot.

At the same time, a Clarkson/Lou/Kobe starting 1-2-3 isn't going to solve problems either
