They actually should tank and get better talent around AD.

I agree that the draft should be where their focus is at...but at 1/9 it doesn't look like they're going to need to tank (and the obligatory, yes it's still early in the season, blahblahblah...)...

Landing Dragan Bender won't be realistic and Korkmaz could be one of the best shooters in this class.

Realistically I'm already bracing for Rabb
Korkmaz may slip a little. I like him and think he is a good fit in todays NBA. Can shoot, pass and finish around the hoop. His D Isnt too bad either all things considered. However he Isnt getting much playing time in Turkey and some scouts have said his progress has somewhat stagnated
He is still great at his age group but not quite as dominant as he was a few years ago, as a lot of guys improved more rapidly than he has.
So depending where y'all land he can easily be available. Bender will prob get scooped real early because of Porzingis and because early on this college class isn't looking like all that to say the least.
I'd rather have Diamond Stone than Rabb tho.

I'm noticing a Trend of a lot more floaters/push shots and short jumpers this year. In that 4-12 foot range. I think there is a couple reasons behind this, first of its early in the season and guys aren't going as hard to the rack and also trying not to get too much contact and get too beat up.

But also it seems that EVERY team runs that Bulls/Warriors scheme now, where the big man stay way back and act as "rim protectors" throwing defensive 3 sec out the window. I do think that this is an effective strategy overall but it does open up a lot of floaters and close mid range shots. Guys like Westbrook and Bledsoe in particular are really taking advantage of that. Chris Paul is very good in that area as well. LeBron is taking less long range shots and working closer to the basket, similar to what he did last year in the playoffs when his jumper just wasnt falling.
Also due to this trend we are seeing a little bit of a reemergence of post players. Blake Griffin for all the talk about his mid range jumper, has done excellent work in the post. guys like Valanciunas and Whiteside as well. Of course the spurs are running lots of post plays.
I'm still not a huge fan of this type of offense but we will see what happens.

I gotta finally Give props to Spoelstra. I love the way he has incorporated the bench and has been able to use Dragic, wade, Deng, Bosh and whiteside together while still having each one do what they like and be effective. Bosh in particular seems to be having a career renaissance. Dragic is somewhat the odd man out for now and its funny being that he is the one that requested coming to the heat.
anyway hats off for Spoelstra and there is a post to be made about the parallels between Love and Bosh with/without Bron

One more thing, i still think making Draymond a playmaker and trapping Curry is the most effective way to guard that pick n roll combo. However, Green has been absolutely terrific(even tho Curry hockey assists do help) as a passer. He has been working on that floater but I do think forcing him into that shot is the most effective defense you can play against Golden state

Yeah, to play GS, you need 2 above average wing defenders, at least one close to lockdown.

One dude has to be dedicated to not giving Steph airspace once you cross halfcourt.

Yeah, this is almost exactly how Cle defended it. Forced Green to be as good as his trash talk and it worked for the first 3 games. But with him at center and all those shooters, it's just about impossible to stop consistently.

their strategy is pretty clear, they up when there are a lot of good games active, and when the thread is at its most relevant

You're probably right....I guess that makes sense...I'm just used to being able to click on it and go right to my first unread post...instead of having to find it...I'm just lazy.

Carry on then folks...
