simple answer: that's how much rebuilding is frowned upon in this city. A team that is generally irrelevant like the Nets won't even sign up for it. They weren't gonna move into a new building only to be trash. Now the Nets are gonna pay the price ultimately for falling short (and now they have no choice but to tear it down), but Barclays is poppin, they have another tenant, BK gear sells like crazy. Everything about that situation is good but the team.

While they rebuild, ain't no Nets fans gonna be there besides Mr. Whammy and Diamante (and he'd rather get high and watch boxing at BB King's)
