Lou Williams used to rap so I always had to play his records in the club. It was like a requirement lol (LeSean McCoy used to force me to play his records too )
But Lou has joints with Meek Mill and Ape Gang (group from Philly)
I remember one time he was supposed to DJ the party with me and shyt. lol
This club I used to DJ at used to have all the celebs come through. We even did the Morris Twins draft party. Lou and Meek lived in there. Khaled came through, Wayne, AI, you name it.
I told this story multiple times but one time the Nuggets came through, I got drunk with them....then I took my entire paycheck from DJing that weekend and bet it on the Sixers. Sixers washed them.
I've been a Laker fan my entire life but rooted for the Sixers because of AI but I think that era made me a Sixer fan as well. Those 2011-2012 Sixers teams weren't the most talented but with Doug Collins, Iggy, Lou, Spencer Hawes, Jrue, Thad Young they could beat anyone on any night and were always competitive. Although I approve of what Hinkie's doing I do have some appreciation for a solid team without a superstar that comes in and competes every night. But yeah, I got to really see how when sports teams win in their respective cities how it energizes the city nightlife wise. Like if the Sixers or Eagles won the club would POP because everyone would go out and turn up. Scene isn't the same anymore in Philly and I'm barely out like I used to be. I do more private stuff now.
I feel old man.
