playoffs ain't the same as the regular season...

if it was, chris paul would be the goat pg, korver would be the greatest shooter in history, ben gordon would still getting max contracts, and dwight howard would've never lost a playoff game
You think LMA can beat the best team in the NBA by himself, we can agree to disagree.

and that pace stat don't mean shyt in the playoffs. everyone know the game slows down because you're better defenses.

who was the last team to be top-5 in pace and win a title? I'll wait.

Didn't say LMA would average 45/25 and singlehandely destroy a great team.

I said that LMA in the playoffs can unhinge GS's biggest asset, its defense, by neutralizing Bogut and their entire interior (for a similar effect, look what Tony Parker did to Miami just last year. There's no stat for putting a team defense in a blender). We've already seen how GS is without Bogut. They need him on the court for offense and defense now. If he's out with foul trouble, for becoming a liability, etc - GS is a different team. That's why Portland is a bad matchup.

:yeshrug:

You think your team is going 16-0 or something? :stopitslime: Every team has someone they need to watch out for.

So you think the only disadvantage in that serious would be our inability to defend LMA? And I never made any proclamations about what we'll do in the postseason except say that we have a better chance than any other team to win it all.

I'm not even hating, I think GS is legit. I just don't think there defense is built to stop a wrecking ball like playoff LMA. The only thing standing between a top 3 defense and mediocrity in GS is Bogut - and LMA has every tool necessary to break him over his knee.
LMA will get his, but the Warriors will make sure that they're low percentage shots. The problem with this notion that the Warriors won't be able to stop him is that it's highly unlikely he'll hit at a clip over a six/seven-game series, that'll put them in a position to win.

He's going to have to keep tempo with a Warriors team that has scorers all throughout their rotation, hard task for three/four games but over six/seven games? Not a chance. Warriors are far too disciplined on the defensive end for that to happen.

His performance will run closer to the SA series than the series he had against Houston.
A lot of things have to go right for Portland too though. Wes can't get cold again, Damian would have to prove his defense is at least good enough to not be a constant liability, Batum would have to get that procedure to remove his head from his ass, Lopez has to come back playing well... but honestly, that's not asking for a lot.

You're basically asking for a big house with a white picket fence. I don't doubt that the T'Blazers starters can keep up with Golden State's, - that's not the issue - the issue is can they do that while also picking up the slack that their bench will give up over said period against a second unit that can keep pace with teams' starters?

Livingston/Holiday
Barbosa/Iggy/Rush
Iggy/Rush
Lee/Speights

That's just saying the have to be healthy and show up. GS at their best will have their hands full with LMA regardless. They can't afford to not be playing at their best vs Portland in the playoffs.
It seems as though you're framing this like Portland are in a better position to win. :heh:

And they're not winning on the road in Portland either.
:dead: at you acting like this is more unlikely to happen than the T'Blazers going into the Oracle and winning.
