Gotta be a Lakers team.
Probably, but even then it's hardly as if they were particularly slow during their last run and were perfectly capable of running the floor if they needed to. Honestly I don't think the definition is particularly helpful to begin with. People tend to overstate the impact of old playoff cliches, like change of pace, refs swallowing whistles etc., half-court domination and understate the importance of match-ups.

In the Portland-Houston series last year Howard ate good but Harden Struggled, which had more to do with him encountering consistently good wing defence (Batum/Mathews), and the limited scope of his skillset (Klay put on a pretty good demo today), than the refs swallowing whistles.

The Kobe-Gasol Lakers hardly ever ran. They were the very definition of a walk it up team.

I do agree with you though that's is bullshyt about how a jump shooting team can't win in the playoffs when that's pretty much the entire league now. The difference is the teams that are skilled at creating good jump shots which teams like GS, ATL, and SA do a great job of as well as Houston on most nights.

Did you see what lineups he had to play with? He isn't a #1 option, yet had the offensive/defensive load of one. You can't play small ball when you don't have a defensive anchor and/or a 5 without a strong offensive skillset.

Rondo pounded the shyt outta the ball and was responsible for around 40% of the team's total assists; teams put their best defensive perimeter player on him every night + more help defensive attention - it's no surprise his 'unassisted makes' don't reflect his actual ability. It's disingenuous to compare him to other inferior players that didn't have his role and personnel.
rondo barely played last year, and courtney lee, jerryd bayless, and jared sullinger had more unassisted makes. so what's the excuse now? he played in every game too. took the most shots, and couldn't create.

just look at tonight: did most of his damage with the 2nd unit. didn't do much of anything with the starters. made all but 1 shot uncontested. made none when he tried to put the ball on the floor.

Why tho, there's a 3 second differential, play good d NH and try to get it to ot with a wtip
he had picked his pocket just a few possessions earlier. i'm not saying it was smart, just that he wasn't trying to foul
