Man, Rockets need a PG who can pass the ball and run PNR.Games like 2night is why i'm gonna maintain a "we'll see.." approach to what houston got going on until the all star break. And not because I expect some massive change from josh smith. Realistically, josh will remain the "village idiot". Which isn't necessarily a bad thing if everything else in the village is in order, as we've seen with other teams with similar cases. The grizz have tony allen, the spurs have ginobli.. basically the one kid in the community who isn't all there with some of the dumbshyt he be doing.. but everybody knows and accepts this because of the good that the idiot can do when you get him to just focus for a minute.
problem is houston's current structure freely gives josh the ball to do or faciliate as he pleases, irregardless of where he is on the court.. and you just never know how that's going to end. Part of it is them just having that free flowing offense without a traditional point guard so it doesn't matter for them who brings the ball up the court and they want to pass it ahead to whoever to pick up the tempo. But that can lead to organized chaos, which probably isn't the best environment for a village idiot to take on greater/open-ended facilitator responsibilities.
So they're going to have to be smarter, either via mchale or the rocket guards, or the team just explaining to smith that they appreciate what he's trying to do but he needs towith some of it.
