Kawhi? :dahell:

Duncan is the only one from the Spurs that deserves to be in consideration. Ain't no way in hell Kawhi should be a candidate over him.

My list would go something like this:

1.Draymond
2.Duncan
3.Middleton
4.Gobert
5.Bogut

The rest in no particular order:

Gasol
Davis
Ariza
MKG
Butler
TA
DeAndre
Kawhi
Tucker
Carroll
Whiteside
Hibbert
Bogut, Green, and Leonard are all in the top 4 in ESPN's DRPM.

Bogut: 5.91
Allen: 5.02
Draymond Green: 4.92
Kawhi:4.78

Duncan isn't that far behind at 7th, 4.46.

Kawhi has been a monster defensively this season, Scottie Pippen like shyt.

When Kawhi is on the court the Spurs have a 99 DRTG, 105 DRTG when he is off.
When Duncan is on the court the Spurs have a 102.2 DRTG, 102.5 when he is off.

---------------------------------------------------

Kawhi has missed too many games though, so has Bogut. Green has played 10+ more games than the both of them(72), he's been a monster as well.

Bogut should have the award but missing too many games and playing only 24mpg isn't fair to other candidates.. Gobbert is my personal choice for the award, but he didn't even start for half a season, so he can't get it either.

Green is the only guy i give it to without any regrets.

.
A large reason for that is the Spurs have a large drop off in perimeter defense when Kawhi/Green are off the court - whereas Baynes, Diaw and Splitter can hold down the front court.

"Duncan has saved 1.23 points, the 11th-highest mark by a player who has averaged 20-plus minutes. His 97 defensive rating is tied for the No. 2 spot leaguewide, while his 3.3 defensive win shares are No. 5.."

Which is half the reason why Kawhi doesn't deserve to be ahead of Duncan. :manny:

Out of all the perimeter guys who come off the bench(manu, MIlls, and Joseph), Marco is the only one with a negative on/off DRTG. None of the rest allow more than a 101 Drtg. They are doing fine.

Kawhi has a 97 Drtg(Draymond is 2nd in the league in this stat behind Bogut) too.

DWS(Draymond leads the league in this stat) is a cumulative stat, playing minutes on a good defensive team adds to it(they are well deserved on Duncan's part though), which is why Harden was leading it for almost half the season. Kawhi has 3.9 DWS compared to Duncan's 4.2 while playing 13 less games, the gap is small even with less games.

I was going to add that Duncan has played 71 games, but that didn't matter in comparison to Green chances at the award.

Kawhi has no chance for it though(based on games played), which i agree with.

And he got a lot of criticism for that.

Be confident or dont. You cant have it both ways.
Foh, no team wants to play the best team possible in the playoffs. You think the Hawks are elated that Paul George is coming back? You think Peyton Manning be happy when he plays against Richard Sherman or Revis in the playoffs?

The players themselves, nah

But youre a fan. You cant dedicate your coli existence to talking about how historically good your squad is and beg for validation like a nervous chihuahua, then turn around and go "Wait, we might have to play a HEALTHY 8 seed team? :merchant::damn::whoa:"

aldridge kaman and batum are all sitting against bk on monday. fukk them

I've accepted that Brooklyn is making it. Lopez and D-Will are finally healthy and the team is clicking now.

Just between us and Miami, we play Cleveland twice but I wouldn't be shocked if at least one of those games they sit their starters
