Towns is going to be at his best playing PF, trying to force him into playing the 5 won't be something teams should do. I guarantee around draft time you're going to hear about him selling himself as a 4, because ultimately that is what he really is.

Yeah but that hasn't stopped the hawks from being successful is my point. You can still play the both of them at the 5 and have your team succeed.

That's 1 example of it working, meanwhile both the Mavs and Blazers figured out that their really tall big men were better off playing the 4 rather than the 5. The Pelicans refuse to play Brow at the 5 for long periods, even though it could work there's no reason to shoehorn him into that position when you're better off with him at the 4.

If I were drafting Towns it's so that he can play PF and take advantage of the size difference.

That is definitely the preferred way to go but if the Lakers are say drafting at the 3 spot and D Russel is off the board and they don't want to go with Mudlay I wouldn't be unhappy with them taking him there and playing him at the 5. I think his defense is better than guys like Aldridge or Dirk so him being at the 5 would be even less of a negative than you would normally think.

Bestovic gonna force Drummond to hit the weights with how much he outmuscles him and outplays him when they matchup.
