KD isn't a household name. Dude isn't known like that by people who don't follow the game. Put him in L.A, Chicago or NYC and he's a superstar outside of the game. He'd be Lebron with or without the rings. Impossible to be a superstar on Madison Avenue if you play in a small market.

If KD isn't a household name, then neither is ANY NBA superstar not named Kobe, LeBron, Dwyane Wade and the guy who married Kim Kardashian. You have to be vastly removed from anything relating to the NBA to not know or recognize Kevin Durant at this point. You make him sound like he's Paul Millsap.

Here's something you haven't yet grasped: Madison Avenue comes to YOU if you're a superstar. All you gotta do is look at LeBron and KD to know that. Dwight Howard became a superstar on Madison Avenue and he played in Orlando all those years.

Put it like this: Do you honestly believe Carmelo Anthony is a bigger superstar now than he was in Denver? At best, it's very marginal in terms of any increase in viability or star power. The only difference between Melo now and Melo in Denver is that Melo was fellated by a Nuggets fanbase that pales in comparison to the Knicks' locals. If you're a casual fan, Kevin Durant will be one of the first guys that pops into your head in terms of recognition.
