Im agreeing with you but I'm also saying the things that made the movements happen don't exist in hiphop and havent for a minute.
What about TDE, A$AP Mob, etc.? I think the thing that made DipSet what it was is that people were so tapped in to them as more than rappers them nikkas had swag for days (yo, no homo man) a strong aesthetic musically (that heatmakerz prod. was GOAT) and they were really tapped into the streets so I don’t think that the ingredients no longer exist the music just isn’t valued the same, people forget Jeezy’s Trap or Die was a movement by itself(which is a whole nother conversation) but you really took your time digesting those records and the avenues for exposure were different you rushed to the tv to see Cam on rap city or 106&Park where as now rappers have as much as 10 interviews at a time on YouTube etc

ASAP mob,TDE or any other rapper label out today don't move like "Family".

I agree 100%. I'm just noting that the landscape has changed.

Very true. None of TDE really runs together as a collective. They don't do joint albums, collabs etc.. neither does ASAP Mob. All these labels work now as a collective of solo acts that run in their own circles for the most part.

Look at MMG and how the Meek/Drake thing played out. If that was Dipset, Juelz and Jim would've had diss records for Drake along with Cam. Wale, Salley, Ross, nobody said not a peep on record against Drake.

You don't see them together all the time, they don't rock chains or have logos that they are always repping.

When the Roc use to say they were family I really believed that because that is how it looked.
