I might have gained a lil too much over the winter but as long as my work rate stays the same shouldn't matter.

Do you at least have a strong ass neck
:lupe:
Yes but it hurts:dame:
My shoulders are huge width wise but I understand why now. The difference is night and day. I wasn’t engaging my glutes to stabilize my pelvis and I theorize lots of other muscles have been compensating. Explains quite a bit. Shoutouts to chatgpt.

Today I learned I be been bracing my core wrong for years and my shoulders and neck were taking over most of my exercises :wow:
No shots at you but this goes back to what I've said on here many times, many folks have no idea how to lift or train properly. Glad you fixed your bad habits before they did major damage.

That’s reality. I got into training on my own and learned everything along the way. I’ve had some TOS issues and this seems to be the root cause.

Gather around for tales from :flabbynsick:

I’ve determined that heavy squats (315 + don’t feel good on a consistent basis. I can do them but if I’m feeling off or pinched for time it’s not optimal.

I’ve been doing a lot of quad work, combined with walking lunges, squats 8-10 sets of 5 and incline walking on the Peleton. It’s got everything feeling good and I can feel the gains in how clothes fit.
Wifey not gonna be ready for the damage that's gonna happen on the honeymoon.... :eldiego:

you in Texas too right? So are you at one of those "influencer" gyms or Destinstion Dallas where Better Bodies work out of? :mjlol:
I have a weekend only membership at Destination. My main gym right now is EOS. Destination is more hardcore, GASP disciples. EOS is more broccoli heads/young LA types.

The big influencer gym here is Absolute Recomp.

ts look crazy :whew: I wish Atlanta had something like that we have nice gyms here

great equipment
the culture's aight. a lot of grown ass men act like hoes though so that's why the big brands never want to do events here according to some folks I know that are "athletes" for Gymshark and some other brands.

but no gyms here really LOOK good like the ones in Houston/Dallas. or PWRBLD up in Philly/KOP for example. gyms here just get a lot of good equipment and stick it in a warehouse w/ no AC.
you can tell that a lot of care was put into the aesthetics of those places I mentioned though.

even just straight powerlifting, Rise and Iron Sight in Houston have such a great look to them. I haven't been to HNS yet but that place looks good on Instagram at least.

I have been to Rise and HNS. Rise is similar to Destination Dallas, proper bodybuilding culture but has too much Arsenal equipment. HNS is good for powerlifting.

But nothing compares to Absolute Recomp if you're an equipment snob, especially the new Fort Worth location. Everything is Panetta/New Tech/Nautilus/Atlantis. Top tier pieces that hits your muscles not your joints. Apparently, the rumor is the next location they're going to open is around my way. I will join there full time when that time comes.

That's true tho, I haven't really heard about quality gyms in Georgia besides Madhouse. Have you been there?

Say brehs when you're doing a "cut" or "bulk" How long does that last for you or do you go for a defined goal ?

I’m cutting weight and I have a defined number/range I want to get to before modifying my fitness goals.

Once I get to my target I then want to decrease my BF% and increase my lean muscle mass. Ideally stay about 13-15% BF for the rest of my 30s while dropping about 1-2lbs a year because as you get up in age, you just want less weight on your joints, muscle or fat.

Cut has been going well and I’m comfortably fitting into some old clothes with just about a fifth of the year completed.
