Plays nothing like Draymond - doesn't have the BBIQ, length and motor for starters. If Dray didn't have his defensive ability, he'd be coming off the bench playing 15 minutes a game. At this stage, Zion's looking like he'll start off being a 6th man.

He's very Fultz/Harden like with the smoothness to his game, he's a really underrated athlete because it looks effortless for him out there.
Yep. Doesn't look too fast but all of a sudden he's at the cup. Add that to him already being the purest shooter in the draft and you're looking at the most complete scorer in this class

It goes without saying, he's far, far more [offensively] talented than Draymond is, but the problem is, your existence in the league is down to your ability to make shots, or to stop them. I struggle to see how Zion with his current height/skillset is going to make shots in the league, because he's damn sure not going to be able to stop them. 6th man will be a great spot for him to start from to build his outside game - his entire existence in the league will come down to it.

:mjlol: I forgot Draymond can block Kareem’s skyhook and guard Shaq
How did you forget that you only like setting up straw men, because you can't break down shyt that's actually been said?

Draymond isn’t in any sense an all-time great defender in any sense of the word, but Zion is just a different player. He has potential to be a good defender because of not only his strength but his speed and quickness at his size.

As a NBA player, I can see him contributing but not sure of his ceiling yet. I definitely like him more than I do/did Bagley that’s for sure.
That's because all you do is watch highlights and box scores.

No, I routinely watch him get cooked by anyone with post game :mjlol:

He also cannot stay in front of good guards for long stretches. He also does not do a good job keeping rebounders off the offensive glass, which is mostly due to his size.

He switches an guards the pick and roll well which is important in this era. He would be dog food in the era with legitimate big men. Aldridge, one of the softest big men of all time, kicks Draymond’s ass all the time.

He is very good in a good defensive scheme. He can’t protect the rim which is why McGee was essential last year, as well as KD.

He has a bigger motor, more defensive smarts, and moves his feet and hands quicker than almost every single big man in the league, but you're telling me he can't stay in front of good guards for long stretches...

He also does not do a good job keeping rebounders off the offensive glass, which is mostly due to his size.
He's been one of the league-leaders in box outs over the last few years (he's #6 this season with 10.2 a game; he averaged around 18 box outs a game in the WCF last season), and averaged 4.7 contested rebounds in the 2016 playoffs (similar amount to Adams and Drummond), averaged 3.8 contested rebounds in the 2017 playoffs (only a few players compared over similar volume of games), averaged 4.5 contested rebounds in the 2018 playoffs (similar amount to Gobert and Embiid).

He's been one of the best players at boxing-out and grabbing contested rebounds (all at a limited height), as well as having more defensive duties out on the perimeter than any other big man.
He would be dog food in the era with legitimate big men.
Except no other player in the league can successively defend the variety of big men that Draymond can. He has the COG, understanding of angles, player tendencies, court awareness, strength, BBIQ, motor etc collectively that no player comes close to displaying. Big men as a whole are more talented than ever before, and Draymond is having more success against them, than any other player, yet you seem to think this back-in-the-day rhetoric is going to cover up your lack of understanding of the game.

:lolbron:
Aldridge, one of the softest big men of all time, kicks Draymond’s ass all the time .
This is factually incorrect. To save myself the trouble of going through all his matchup shooting percentages against Draymond in recent history, let me just post this -
LaMarcus Aldridge deletes social accounts after Golden State game

SAN ANTONIO-- After recording just five points, one rebound and three turnovers in a blowout loss against the Golden State Warriors on Monday, San Antonio Spurs big man LaMarcus Aldridge immediately deleted his Twitter and Insagram accounts.

Aldridge was not a heavy social media user but the move to get rid of both accounts seemed odd considering the timing. San Antonio had just gotten blown out and Aldridge had his worst game in a Spurs uniform. He was passive and got pushed around by Draymond Green, going 2 for 9 from the field while also getting seriously exploited defensively by Golden State.
:mjlit:
He can’t protect the rim which is why McGee was essential last year, as well as KD.
2018 playoffs - Draymond defended the fifth most attempts at the rim, at 6.5 attempts a game (Gobert was #1 with 8.8 attempts), and holding opponents to 53% FG, which was better than AD and Capela.

He held opponents to under -10 FG% from < 6ft.

2017 playoffs- Draymond defended the third most attempts at the rim, at 6.2 attempts a game (Capela was #1 at 7.8 attempts) and holding opponents to 50% FG, which was considerably better than Capela (58%), Adams (63%), horford (64%) - basically he was the best rim protector during that postseason.

He held opponents to under -11 FG% from < 6ft.

2016 playoffs - Draymond defended the second most attempts at the rim, at 7.6 attempts per game (Millsap was #1 at 8.2 attempts), and holding opponents to 47% FG, which was better than Whiteside, Howard, Millsap.

He held opponents to under -16 FG% from < 6ft.
