Responded in a Running/Jogging thread in TLR but figured I would make my own thread cause I’m hype as shyt and can answer any questions to anybody looking to try one out. I already ran about 8-10 miles a week on average but set out a goal 4 weeks ago to knock this half out in under two hours so I had to step it up a notch. Almost finished in the top 20%.

Nice work. Do you feel you can improve your overall standing? It's a nice sense of purpose, like now you are training for something important. As long as you don't fukk up your goal like "yeah, this next one I want to make top 5!" And then fail..that shyt hurts different.

This is exactly it. A sense of purpose and accomplishment. The mental and physical benefits this past month outside of accomplishing the goal was another big takeaway. I feel fukking great and it’s hard for me to go backwards once I’ve seen what this can do for me.

To answer your question though hell yea I know I can improve. I only trained for four weeks so I know if I put some serious focus on it the sky would be the limit.

Salute! What mental benefits have you noticed? I feel great after running a mile . A half marathon is probably next level

A better attitude. Exerting and pushing yourself releases endorphins to make you feel good on top of working towards a goal and seeing your body progressing with that in mind. I’ve had some great evening runs but starting my day with a good run session done in the morning before work gives me a sense of calm.

:whoo: Congrats. Did you do any other form of cardio before starting your 4 week training plan? That’s a good time since you were only running 8-10 miles a week prior

Nah. I was very consistent over the years with doing 10ish miles a week so my legs were more than likely conditioned to me increasing the mileage quickly.
