Caught it today before Infinity War throws this in the bushes. The Rock was outdoing Prime Schwarzenegger here no-selling a gunshot to the gut through 30 minutes of pure carnage. 
Outside of the utterly shyt villains I kinda enjoyed all of this nonsensical fukkery though. I was dying at the visual of The Rock with a grenade launcher teaming up with Ginormous George to face the heel tag team of Stone Wolf Steve Austin and Croc Lesnar.
The action was silly but dope and they at least did the game a bit justice with the monsters wrecking shyt through Chicago.

i loved how after all the running and scaling pieces of buildings dodging giant crocodile monster he finally decides to hold that gunshot wound like he just remembered after all that time...Caught it today before Infinity War throws this in the bushes. This wasn’t that bad. Better than I thought it would be.
The villains were really really bad. They might as well have had moustaches to twirl.
Jeffrey dean Morgan stole the film for me. He was like negan but obviously not murderIng people. He was great in every scene. Rock was okay. I find he works better as an ensemble when he has someone to work off of. When he’s asked to do the heavy lifting he’s kind of dull. I’m also
@ joe getting killed almost immediately.
@ rock getting shot in the gut with like 30 minutes left and no selling it the rest of the film.
The action though for me delivered. I loved the monster designs and the fighting was dope. I also really enjoyed the aesthetic choice of having all the dust and debris in the air. It was a nice touch considering all these other blockbusters that have mass destruction everywhere and the air is clear as fukk
Anyway, it was an enjoyable B movie. Much better than pacific rim 2

Has rock ever had a non white wife/kids in any of his films? Even in this film they made his gorilla white
