If you’re talking about the actual south
This means no DMV area, Kentucky , Oklahoma, Missouri, West Virginia or even most of
Texas
If you take out Maryland and Delaware, DFW is still only 6.4% of the Southern population...
Anything else, we can always make subjective exclusions. There's mf's who say Northern Virginia ain't the South, there's people who say all of Virginia ain't the South. There's people who say West Texas ain't the South, or all of Texas ain't the South. There's mf's who exclude Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida, West Virginia, and Kentucky from the South. I've even heard people say Nashville area is really the Midwest and mf's say North Carolina ain't the South...
If a nikka want to you could basically exclude whatever and say there is no South

The only states that people ALWAYS put in the South are SC, GA, AL, MS, LA. So yes, of that's what you're calling "the South", it's a small area. But if you're being more logical and realistic, the South is by far the biggest major US region with the largest population overall and while the biggest cities are mostly non-southern cities, the South by far has the most population centers of big/sizable cities...
