I stand by it.
If the details in this story happened exactly how this woman says, she could easily have ended up dead.
"Protecting him" or "fear of embarrassment from police being called to your house" should be secondary to the safety of the people who are in potential danger in situations like this.

It doesn't make sense at all, but protective orders are granted based on a preponderance that something did or will happen, and these key words from the petitioner "I'm fearful for my life." Slide those key words in and a judge will always err on the side of caution, whether you have evidence of it happening or not.
