iRacing is a subscription PC racing simulator that's really lifelike and very difficult. Makes Gran Turismo feel like Mario Kart. A lot of professional drivers and even some F1 drivers play it.
If you're really fast you can qualify for some of the official events and leagues. I think NASCAR has an official partnership with iRacing.

The sport has gotten to a point where if you want to start racing at a real early age you damn near have to be a millionaire to afford everything.
iRacing has allowed multiple drivers to enter nascar because it’s so realistic & it’s to the point now where NASCAR teams practice on iRacing throughout the year & offseason.
But shoutout to Rajah. He a real one..black family, black girlfriend & he goes to an HBCU (WSSU)

Been the best, especially in regards to anything American oval racing. They are basically the de-facto simulator for real drivers/teams in series' where it'd be cost prohibitive to develop them yourself. Dale Jr was one of the first who pushed sim-racing and it's real world application back in the 00's.
The money just isn’t there in the sport like it used to be as a lot of those sponsors have left over the years.
