Yes Attackers can see it but you have to be creative where you put them.

I can already think of plenty of ways that it will be useful.

vaulting over those deployable shields right into a trap for instance?

Caught a few with frost trap yest. I think the best use of it is in dark areas and of course under Windows. For example, the stairwell to the garage on that cabin map is a great place to put it because it isn't well lit. Put it right there where the divider is. It works double if you place a shield in front(even tho most don't use one and if they do its for their own personal camp)

My boy was catching people with that gadget all night. I'm contemplating on getting the Season Pass or not

Only played the Yacht map once in Ranked... and the sound was glitched or something. There's no music and it's just really quiet.

Tried it in Custom too, just to get a feel for it's layout. They hid the cameras pretty well on there for the defensive team. Can hardly see some of them.
