Raekwon should link up with Alchemist and have a 2020’s Nas type of run of albums

Bingo

Both are workaholics too

Rae never drags his feet with work and never does Alchemist

I could see them having a Nas/Hitboy type of run of albums and that shyt would be perfect

And Hit-Boy ain't even dope to me, and he got to sit in with a GOAT for mad albums, lol.

Imagine a legend doing that with ALC for multiple projects. That's the kinda music we need to be made, these days.

As vocal as Rae has been about RZA over the years, I bet he would.

Ain’t like he hurting for money either

Plus Alchemist seems like a dude he respects

Yeah, his production is average at best to me

I like some of his beats but after a while the beats just all sound ok, but nothing mind blowing

Not bad, just “alright”

Right? And who better than Rae?

This would not only remind people how great Raekwon is but it would also give him a second run

Rae is kind of a master at making bad career decisions. This should have been done a decade ago. There have been a lot of producers within that time frame who he could have tapped in with. Madlib, Daringer, knxledge. A big problem the vet rappers have is they can't really decipher who is up and coming and who is a retread. So they end up finding some wack white boy making regressive soul loops for cheap instead of making something great with a great producer who just wants to tour with you (and get paid of course).

Look at Gibbs' career. He dropped an album with Statik Selectah at a time when that was a good idea. Then he got Madlib, Alch, etc. He also found young producers here or there for beats and EPs. Rae couldn't do that? I feel the same way about Ghost tbh. Could have hit all those dudes instead of letting Adrian Younge and wack white boys distract him.

What?!!

Grandmasters is a classic

You need to go listen to that right now

That’s the last time GZA still had a great flow and delivery

Muggs laced him with great beats on Grandmasters

I listened to a couple tracks....hot take but I think his vocal chain was the best on enter the 36....not even LS or forever

Well of course

Grandmasters came out in 05 or 06; that’s a decade well after his prime years

No one is saying the album is Liquid Swords but it is a classic in its own right and was a step back in the right direction of years of lackluster albums from him

You gotta remember the 2000’s was a dark period for the Wu as a whole

An album like this in the 2000’s was nice flash of that retro sound most wanted to hear from the Wu

The Adrian Younge albums were RZA’s brainchild, Ghost was just along for the ride on those. They were critically acclaimed to so its not like they were some big miss-fire.

There’s no excuse for his last couple albums though, he used to be the Wu member who you could count on to be consistent with solid to great production I don’t know what his issue has been. Set The Tone was so disappointing I have NO idea how Nas allowed that to be released on Mass Appeal.

I’d love to see Rae hook up with someone like Madlib but Madlib takes forever to make projects with anyone not named Freddie Gibbs.

I loved the Apollo Brown version of the Younge album. I respect Younge as a musician and love his jazz albums but his production doesn’t work for rap IMO. Too slow, no swing.

You’re right that album was a success but then he did the same thing multiple times and seemed to just get further and further from actual rap producers.
