He’ll have a better chance than in 09. Nas was going through his divorce with Kelis and all that crap with the child support plus alimony going public. They’re touring together right now and Nas is experiencing a musical renaissance so i’m sure they’ll reconnect.

It’s funny because Rae is always moaning about RZA talking about ‘he’s not feeling the direction’ but without RZA’s involvement, his projects are garbage to mid at best. Rae is a top tier spitter but he just doesn’t have the vision to put himself within that legendary category - he’s lucky that RZA does

Na rza started the album, they brought it to dre, rae axed the tracks which ended up becoming 8 diagrams (you can tell they all recorded same time) ; weak spot, sunlight, thug world, rockstars, you cant stop me now, face the problems, and state of grace off; brought to dre and they added those tracks
Rae never signed to dre. The book says they asked for 3 mill. Rza said you sure? Yes. Dre said ok. But said hed have to wait. They waited a while and then took it elsewhere.
I think rza was out by the end and that point because or the 8 diagrams thing.
Im pretty sure most of these songs were on it during rzas day
And I think the bt beats were late additions to polish it off tho I only like the travis barker remix of pent, not the rest like crim 2.5 and bad lands
Say what you want about Westside Gunn but I think he would bring the right production for Raekwon in this era.
I really hope Rae doesn't lean into contemporary shyt on this like he did with his recent ones.

I play it regularly. Even though it's great it's also unfortunately one of those 'what if' albums where you know from the backstory that it's not entirely the original vision. Double unfortunate is that alot of those what if albums are Wu albums.
Cuban Linx III has been my most anticipated album for years tho.
