The contrast is so painfully clear. On one side:
1. Everything is terrible. The country is infested with crime, violence, perversion at every turn! It's horrible, we're a third world country that nobody respects!

1. We have problems, but we're the country that put a man on the moon and helped save Europe from the nazis. We're the country that made the NFL, NBA and baseball. We can fix these problems if we work together and do our part.
