If his heart was in it R Kelly could EASILY make a voodoo black messiah typa album..That gospel influenced r&b shyt kellz was dropping from 93' til 98' was simply amazing...
Key word is "IF". R. Kelly and D'angelo's music aren't interchangeable. R. Kelly would struggle trying to make a D'angelo track. Again, R. Kelly is better overall, bit if you put R. Kelly in a studio by himself and D'angelo in a room by himself, D has a greater chance of walking out of that room with a
level song than R. Kelly.

because D'Angelo does the same at more talented clip, breh covers more genre's musically, plays more instruments, is more talented period, any music head whether in the industry or out will tell you that. Thats without even factoring in live performance.D'Angelo is in that Prince/Stevie Wonder category. Comparing him to R Kelly who is a blatant biter is laughable, one minute breh is trying to sound/look like Aaron Hall, Lenny Williams next, and Marvin after that, breh has no identity.

A more "talented clip"? What the fukk does that even mean? And please name all the genre's that D'Angelo covers. R. Kelly has written and performed traditional R&B, Soul, Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, Gospel and Country music. And who are these "music heads" you are referring to? Please post anything that backs up your implication that "music heads" believe that D'Angelo is more talented than R. Kelly. Also, I already pointed out that D'Angelo is a better instrumentalist. R. Kelly doesn't really do instruments. It's not really his forte.

He makes dope, creative music in his sleep. Kells could do a D'Angelo track easily. He's already shown that he can write and produce really dope and commercially successful music in damn near every noteworthy genre. For himself and other artists. You stanning too hard. You disregarding facts.
I made it because in a John Legend/Kanye thread a few D'Angelo stans were talking sideways about R. Kelly. Just wanted to see their response to the results of a R. Kelly vs. D'Angelo poll.

This shyt ain't fair. I generally find it easy to go-in on people choosing the more popular artist, but Kells is more than just a propped up by a machine, popular artist. Dude is very damn talented.
A few years ago, I heard dude doing some of his songs for fans outside, while smoking a cigar. That nikka voice just as cold as it was in the 90s.
On the flip side, D'angelo's sound is so different, and he is so talented, that it's impossible for me to choose against him.
To this day, his remake of Cruisin' gives a nikka the stank-face.
D'angelo is more comparable to Maxwell, tho'. Two very soulful artists, just with different styles. D'angelo got that gut-bucket shyt.
