The mystery of Tim Dog's disappearance can be laid to rest. Turns out, the Bronx-bred rapper, born Timothy Blair and best known for his song "F--k Compton," actually did die Feb. 14, 2013.
A Mississippi judge had issued a warrant for his arrest in May 2013 after a woman accused him of faking his own death to get out of paying off a debt to her.
According to reports, Esther Pilgrim met Tim Dog on an online dating site. She said he scammed her out of $32,000 to invest in a music business and that he still owed $19,000 when his monthly payments of $100 suddenly stopped in February.
“I need proof … I need a death certificate showing that’s he’s dead because as far as I’m concerned, he’s alive,” prosecutor Steve Jubera had said.
Dateline, which broadcast news of Tim Dog's alleged con, recently uncovered that proof –– a death certificate declaring Timothy Blair dead in Dekalb, Ga. It wasn't found easily, as only his close family, friends and caregivers knew where he lived.
Many in the hip hop community have already honored his memory. The Source sent out news of a funeral soon after his death, due to a diabetic seizure, and Kool Keith performed a tribute set during one of his shows.
Tim Dog was 46.
Tim Dog's Death Has Been Solved
He was the main dude who stood up against the abuse Dre did towards Dee from Pump It Up....I remember the interview he did on Pump It Up where he was speaking on how he went after Dre specifically because of what he did to Dee.
Tim Dog made a lot of noise in 1991 with F*ck Compton. Still will never forget DJ Quik saying he was bronx killa on the song Way 2 Fonky when dissing tim Dog on his 2nd album only to go on Yo MTV Raps and include the Bronx during the chorus of Jus Lyke Compton with a scared look on his face as if he thought Tim Dog would pop up outta nowhere with a lit match and aim it at Quiks jeri curled juiced head...
