His first album is up there for me also. His new album coming April 3rd I can't wait.

The beat switch on 'First Snow' from the 1st album is incredible still!

Been listening to dude since this thread. I love this. Now I'm hooked...who else should I check out who makes music like this? I'm looking for mostly Instrumental albums but will check out anything like this.

I'm familiar with dudes like Fat Jon, DJ Krush, DJ Shadow, BLockhead...but this Japanese Jazz Hip Hop shyt is awesome.

:feedme:

You should check this cat out named Bugseed, he is dope as well.

Nowhere
Dapped and repped. There isn't a single day that passes where I don't listen to atleast 1 Nujabes track.

Above The Clouds
this whole scene kind of ended after him, sadly

Fat Jon is nowhere to be seen, he brought a electronic edge to what the others were doing but i thought the feel was similar

Forces of Nature did not do much after the Champloo era

Wale Oyejide (Science Fiction) got into fashion, has not dropped music since like 08

Fat Jon is one my beatmaking GOATs, his early 5 Deez/3582 shyt defined an entire era for me in the early 2000s. The last thing son did was a Soundtrack for some indie comic in 2016. And that shyt was fire :whew:

As far as Science Fiction, I feel like alot of brehs slept on him. I owned all his work on wax from that era. He was great at infusing the Afro sounds with the soul vibe. That joint he had with DOOM was :banderas:
