On the real tho sadly big L was street struck himself like many other rappers that led to his early demise ….….:wow: … I can only imagine where is career would have been had he lived cause he was 1 ov the best lyricist:wow:

Big L was like dilla in that if you knew, you knew, but he was never going to be mainstream while alive. Death elevated both of them to cult-like status. And I'm happy both are receiving the love, but I remember asking dudes about both Big L and Dilla(Jay Dee) in the 90s and 2000s and no one knew who they were. I still remember when I put my homeboy onto him one day watching Rap City because he had never seen the "put it on" video. It came on one day he was at my crib and L said the line, "I got girls that make that chick Toni Braxton look like Whoopi",. Later on he said, "I hope he's not talking about the chicks in the video" :russ:

however I think you’re wrong here - Big L had mainstream potential, he wasn’t like outside the box in some uncontemporary alinear way - they would’ve packaged him up in a way that may of detracted from what we see in him but

and really what we saw with Fabolous was likely the template they were going to use for Big L
