It's crass and cringe..nothing brotherly or cool bout it.
And with it going mainstream, Black people that had no hand in that mess suffer.

And wheres the evidence Black people took it back and own it when the exact opposite has happened :francis:
:mjlol:cats stay saying that "took it back" line. In Jamaica for example people say the n word but its pronounced differently than it is in America. They never "took anything back", it's pretty much used negatively 99% of the time it's being said.

Anthony Edwards screamed "lil ass nikka" in a post game interview last week and no one batted an eye

that shyt BEEN od mainstream all my life.....i dont ever remember it being a private thing....rappers got hit singles with nikka in the title

multiple non black artists have said it and gotten a pass

its been a wrap

And that’s why Silver wont promote him as the new face of the NBA yet while he’s clearly the best American player

ANT is too unhinged

Anyways to answer the question:

Since J-Lo and Fat Joe got passes a foot was in the door for ambiguous Latinos

Then Mexicans like 6 nine got it and the rest of the world took it for good

Bruno mars still wont say it :banderas:

The way people (all races including black) use that word on twitter makes me cringe everyday. People use it for unnaturally comedic effect or to make themselves look "cool and relatable"...like instead of just saying "Doctors" they say "Doctor nikkas" weird shyt like that....real life minstrelsy

When social media became popular, it exposed how everyone speaks when not in mixed company. This is how a lot of white people end up getting fired. So if black people say the n-word among ourselves, and tweets are people just speaking their mind, it’s going to be said.

Jimmy Iovine had this song back in the day in 1978, but he told suge and tupac they had to eliminate some songs because they was mentioning jewish /white women..

Nobody talks about this or bring this up to him

Yep. Jimmy Iovine a net negative to rap. Bringing all that negativity.

Breh,

Southern Whites, with "Southern Drawl", regularly called Black Folks "Nikka" with the "A", HUNDREDS of Years before Modern Hip Hop.

The Word is DESIGNED To DISPARAGE US, regardless if some of us have chosen to "Embrace" it (Term of "Endearment").

The fact that when some of us get Mad, that word is one of the FIRST Words used, betrays the wickedness of it.

It's a VILE WICKED WORD, that is Bathed in the Blood of Black Folks!
Thing is, we change the use of dozens of words every year. It's just a word.

And fought fir our ownership of this word for years, but after seeing white kids call each other nikka, just let it go.

It would be one thing if ONLY black people were called nikka, but whites, Asian, Chico, they all call themselves nikka.

The word has morphed as many words we use have. It's not a word worth crashing out over any more

Enslaved Black people used the word amongst each other prior to the 1800s (19th century). There are many reasons as to why - class-leveling, defining themselves, etc...

That's why I feel like black people not doing a good job gatekeeping our culture. Wanna be all loving and accepting to others, even if it means losing your dignity for them. It's fukking sickening.

It's been jumped the shark. No one has the right to call a black person out their name without getting checked, but tripping off the gga variant if other groups want to use it with each other is a lost cause and black people have themselves to blame for that.

Some of us are A-One suckas who like to fake the funk of having a code.

As a youngster coming up certain subjects and words weren't spoken in front of us because we were kids.

It's crazy to me how some of our people don't have the discipline to check ourselves when speaking amongst outsiders.

Not to be on that holier than thou shyt but I stay telling folks (Ese's, Asians and Samoans) to check that N-word around me.

I look at them to be our kids when it comes to so-called black American culture. Therefore I don't say nga or refer to them as my nga.

Its crazy because its usually another black person around trying to justify why its cool for Atzlan or Uso to say nga in their presence
