Invading a sovereign nation is starting the war.

There’s no way around it.

NATO was pushing into Ukraine after promising Russia decades ago they weren't going to expand.
Yet NATO kept expanding, and haven't stopped. After the Ukraine situation, NATO is actively expanding into more countries next to Russia.

You're still an idiot for believing the media.

Even if nato expanded. Invading a sovereign nation is not acceptable.

If Korea decided to align with China and breaks its security pact with the US. Does that give the US the right to invade Korea?

If Canada aligned with Russia. Does that give the US the right to invade them?

This logic is a slippery slope. You are essentially justifying the US’s reasons for invading and subverting sovereign nations.

According to your own logic, you would have supported the bay of pigs invasion.

Not to mention… countries willingly CHOOSE to join nato. It’s not like nato is some evil empire taking over countries. A sovereign nation has the right to choose if they want to be part of nato or not. What gives Russia the right to choose who can and can’t join nato?

Didn't read it.
:umad:

You don't have any foundation to stand on.

Just a bunch of propaganda.

You fight read it? No wonder you are arguing with me. If you read it you would have just nodded your head and kept it moving.

These are ex-Soviet Union states that NATO is trying to take over.
Of course Russia is going to take offense.
You avoid war with Russia by not trying to take territory they think is theirs.

Otherwise, get ready to have your life wrecked by WW3.
All your young cousins and brothers are on the verge of fighting a war that could have been avoided.

NATO never promised Russia it wouldn't expand. People always push that myth, but don't understand where it came from.

Back in the 90s, there were talks about Germany reunifying between the Soviet Union and Western powers about how NATO forces would operate in a unified Germany, but there was never any formal agreement made about stopping NATO's growth. Countries like Poland and the Baltics joined NATO on their own because they wanted protection from Russia. Ukraine wanted to join NATO for years, especially after Russia took Crimea in 2014. And after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, countries like Finland and Sweden decided to join because they're worried about Russian aggression. Russia's actions are driving this. There are legitimate criticisms of NATO, but this isn't one. This is purely the effects of Russian aggression.

I believe in sovereign nation being able to choose what organizations they want to join. Why does Russia have a right to choose who can join nato?

Should the US invade nations that they don’t want to join Brics?
