why werent they?
the point I am making is that an old head could say X player did this in 1960s and was better than what Y player did in the 1980s and what Z player did today. The only reason why we prop up the 80s and 90s players is because thats when a lot of us started watching the sport and those were our icons when younger.
Where Im going with this is stfu and appreciate these records these guys are putting up.

Calvin was targeted more this season than any other season for a WR in history. Stafford threw the ball 685 times this year. That is a lot of passes.
A. Records are made to be broken
B. Yes there are rules to help the offenses but the league isn't a "4 yards and a cloud of dust" anymore..so of course you will see a spike in passing/receiving..
C. One can argue that those Niner and Dolphin offenses(albeit great players)were just ahead of the curve and more creative then which is just the norm now..

I was just tryna found out how the coli looks at legends and current players based on records and caliber of player and what not.
Just trying to put shyt in perspective and not lump jerry rice in w/ wes welker cause they in the record books together.
I can appreciete old records and enjoy them being broken. It actually makes it that much more enjoyable when you know wants going on.
