This isn't my work at all, a cat from Realgm posted it but these are really impressive numbers and I think worth discussing.

http://stats.nba.com/league/player/defense/#!/lt6/

So I think we have all noticed how sick Porzingis's defense has been lately. But do we know how well? Hes been shooting up defensive lists over the last few weeks. The #'s back it up. He has defended the 9th most shots inside of 6 feet in the NBA (6.5 fga) and has a -11% fg differential on these shots. Hes pretty much playing Rudy Gobert level defense (a players defense people were going gaga over). Only Andrew Bogut has a better fg differential, though on a less shots (4.3 fga, 47th most fga inside 6 ft). His defense within 10 feet is almost just as good. 3 pt defense, which was a weakness at the begining, is now also slightly above average (-1.7 diff, was + when i checked a few weeks ago). His BBall IQ and ability to focus on weaknesses is awesome. Let us take a moment to appreciate that we have someone who has defensive player of the year potential in the future.

Now the raw numbers are nice here, but I'd argue that spacing PF's have been a problem for KP. He's prone to back off and deny inside play but give up jumpers. This would go a long way to explaining why he's checking out as one of the better interior defenders league wide at PF while majority of those accolades belong to C's. Long story short, he's one offseason of strength training away from being much more valuable as a C than a PF because C's just don't have the range to make him pay for trailing off as often. But regardless, the two factors here that are really exciting are 1) he's already putting up elite protection numbers against interior offense and 2) he's improving his numbers defensively all around which gives the sense that he can continue his growth and really be a DPOY type of presence in time.

Lmao word.

Imagine how devastating it'd be to see the West ALL STARS...

I REPEAT...

THE WEST ALL STARS completely get in the Knicks ass during the break.

That little kid who cried when Porzingis was drafted would probably end up jumping off a fukking building.

That shyt would be so embarrassing. :mjlol:.....:patrice:.....:mjcry:

Rolo has been playing some solid defense lately. He punked Drummond. He punked Gasol, which led to the refs sitting Rolo down in bogus foul trouble. Hopefully he can bring that tonight.

The past two match-ups with the Hawks, he's really put in work so I've got high expectations for him. He's too big for anyone not named Tiago Splitter on that team and Splitter ain't playing.

Some keys to tonight's game:

Take care of the ball (NY coughed it up 22 times in Atlanta)
Get back in transition (NY gave up 26 points off of those turnovers)
Rebound (that's a weakness in Atlanta that NY can exploit)
