#stayme7oWhy we always keep getting washed up stars?
I see some of you nikkas still don't realize how much of a steal y'all got with the acquisition of Rose. I remember arguing with fellow Bulls fans last year who wanted to write him off because he was struggling with his vision.... Then when his vision cleared up & he took that mask off, he was having them look stupid for doubting him during the latter portion of the season when he was damn near putting up 20, 6, on almost 50% from the field nightly....
The days of Rose knifing/driving into the lane with reckless abandon, forcing the issue, and dunking on folks are over, which kinda sucks because he was just so raw, and in my eyes he engulfed/embodied everything that is the city of Chicago into his playing style.... BUT.... He's made these adjustments to his game in order to prolong his career - where he use to throw his body into the lane putting the onus on the refs to give him a call.... That's been replaced with an effective floater. When he first came back from his first torn meniscus, he'd settled for 3's.... That's been replaced by him going back to his mid-range game & he has a deadly bank shot now between the lines to show for it - although I do worry about Hornacek changing this because I heard him say some stupid shyt about Rose needing to go back to shooting more 3's.... And Rose still has the acrobats and the uncanny ability to finish those beautiful lay-ups too.
It may not be 'poetry in motion' to watch like it was when Rose was the MVP of the league, but I keep telling people that the best OVERALL ball of his career has yet to be played. Y'all just need to hope that it's with y'all that he does it with....
This is the most offensively capable team that he's ever played on, and he's always been a willing passer of the rock. I look forward to what he's going to do FOR a scoring machine like Melo, and a young talent like Porzingis.
I want to touch on Noah too.... I'm not gonna lie to y'all. Noah is my dude, but any semblance of offense that he used to provide the Bulls was seemingly shot to shyt after he had that knee surgery a few years ago; HOWEVER, there's no reason why he couldn't be effective i.e. like Tristan Thompson of the Cavs who gives them nothing but rebounding & energy. Noah is a prideful dude, so I'm just hoping that he's not complacent with the fact that he's overpaid right now (and yes y'all did overpay) and wants to try to justify that contract somewhat...
Regardless, I look forward to this upcoming season, and I'll officially be in the building November 4th :blessedrose2:.
