Yall gotta make up your mind what you want. The perfect triangle guard or to dump the triangle. Because the perfect triangle guard is Mike or Kobe. Seeing as how they are the only guards that have been successful with it. Ever. In the history of success. Of all time. If Rambis is coaching the Knicks better make a HUGE splash in FA this summer or League Pass won't be getting my $ next season.![]()
Well that's at least one sign that Rambis ain't the foregone conclusion![]()

I just want Rambis the fukk out it's obvious he's had a career full of failure and needs to kick rocks. Unfortunately Phils ego seems to be in the way as he's adamant on forcing the Triangle![]()
If he had such faith in Rambis in the 1st place, why not hire him out the gate? Since he thought we'd the playoffs his first full season, why hire a rookie coach fresh out the league with zero coaching experience on any level? This mufukka Rambis has less than 50 wins in his entire coaching career. And this is the ONLY cat Phil is considering?? Something ain't right here. I got buyers remorse like a mufukka on Phil. Jeanie Buss come get your man please.
Working backward, there is reason to believe that Jackson would give serious consideration to Blatt for the job, despite the fact that Blatt isn’t a triangle loyalist.
Jackson was said to respect Blatt’s offensive mind even before Blatt returned to the U.S. from Israel to take what would later become the high-profile job of coaching LeBron James in Cleveland. In fact, when Jackson served as a consultant for the Detroit Pistons in 2013, he put Blatt’s name on a short list of candidates the team should consider hiring as an offensive coordinator, according to a league source.
The Pistons ultimately hired Maurice Cheeks as coach that summer, while Blatt remained in the Israeli League. But Jackson’s recognition of Blatt’s offensive chops at the time could carry real weight since Jackson has repeatedly indicated that is isn’t willing to go outside his own circle of disciples, or his system of choice, to find a coach for the Knicks.
Blatt didn’t run the triangle during his stint in Cleveland or overseas during a decorated international career. But his offense relied heavily on ball movement—something Jackson has said is a must—by borrowing heavily from Pete Carril’s Princeton offense, which utilizes back cuts and ball reversals. (Blatt’s teams set far more ball screens than the Knicks have while using the triangle.)
Putting Blatt in charge of the Knicks would make sense looking forward: He is a coach who values system basketball, and he’s also someone who figures to work well with Mills, who could be running the organization when the 70-year-old Jackson completes his five-year contract in 2019.
