How hard is it for people to understand that Melo has a NTC, he's NOT going anywhere unless he wants too, and he doesn't. Give the trade Melo talk a rest

I don't think it's a stretch to say, given the current trajectory of the team -- they're still not a playoff team, don't have a draft pick to buoy them this offseason, and also don't seem to have a hook for the best FA's this summer -- that Carmelo could agree to being traded to a contender.

Teague trade rumor? Or something different?

the official rumor is the hawks want to trade him for George Hill from the Pacers. The only issue with that was I thought the hawks were moving Teague to let shroeder be the starter on a rookie contract. George Hill's contract is just as long and s big as Hill's though and that is a steal for Indy if its true.

I just think he like's NY, Its a great place to be a star and he is aware enough to know as he gets older having a young star like KP who will become better is going to make the later part of his career easier. Hell him passing so much more now is as good a sign as any he can take the backseat role on the team.

no bullshyt, the Knicks need to stop trying to force the players into the triangle offense

go hire tim thibodeau and sign Rondo in the offseason..

then if possible trade for d-rose and use that nikka as a backup cause he aint no starter

Maybe!

Definitely, definitely maybe. I understand all the reasons why he WOULDN'T want to be traded. NYC life, exposure, etc etc.

All I am saying is: I also understand that there are reasons that he WOULD want to be traded, specifically the hope of competing and playing on a playoff contending team for the next three years.

I don't know why we should pretend that Melo, who is aging before our eyes, getting hurt more and more, and clearly in the declining stage of his career - is immune to the draw of a better team, that can put him in contention.

Losing sucks, and he's done plenty in new york.

I feel like Melo lack the ability to help people around him grow/develop..

cause I don't think they should've traded away Tim Hardaway JR..

He could've been a good propect to build with KP if they kept him...he could shoot the ball and he could play D#..the Knicks just never helped him develop

He should want to leave, that's the point. I still feel like we can fool people into giving us a good deal for him.

Even if he didn't have he no trade, his contract pretty much prevents that. There isn't a contender out there that's going to rearrange their roster to fit Melo on there...especially when he can't stay healthy.

But most of the players Melo played with, had their best seasons with him.

This is my larger concern.

Not so much the contract, which this summer will render closer to reasonable -- but the fact that he's hurt, again.

He's getting old and injured at a time where you would need him to be balling if you were hoping to trade him. This was actually my larger concern last season, when people were in the grips of fighting about melo. He has had some great games, and some great stretches this season, playing complimentary basketball, scoring when he needed to, showing more effort on D, and really orchestrating ball movement as often as he stops it.

But he's hurt again. This will be his FOURTH full-length season with the knicks, and there has only been ONE where he hasn't missed significant time.
