North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
for an out of shape nikka like me anyway...

I've been a member of 24 hr fitness twice and each time I would go 4 times a week for the first few weeks then once a week then never.

This time I didn't want to waste money so I've switched up my diet by drastically lowing my calorie intake. I figured if I burn more than I took in, had no choice but to lose weight. On days I wasn't working, I sleep as much as I could. People don't realize how sleeping helps with the weight loss.

When I started doing push ups I couldn't do more than 10. One month later I do 4 sets of 25 every day and alternate between pushups and 25 sets of crunches. In a little over a month I've gone from 6'1 243 to 227.6 as of yesterday. My goal is to be 188 by April. Not trying to drop too much too fast. I want to give my body the proper time to adjust. Don't want that sagging skin and shyt like that. The beauty is I can eat what I want in the process for 1 day out of the week.

As long as you can get some form of exercise in it's better than nothing breh so props to you for that. I would invest in a pull-up bar as well that you can hang from your doorframe. Don't get the cheap one for $20 but get this

It will really help you work on your back, shoulder and other muscles that the push-ups are not targeting. Get your cardio in as well on your off-days.

i do both.

it's more or less the same except that you seem to be only training your upper body. but you're right, you can get in good shape doing home exercise only. it really depends on what your goal is. passed a certain point, if you want to get stronger, i think the gym equipment starts to become needed (although you could also buy the equipment if you have the space)

You can do some serious work at home for legs too contrary to popular belief. My legs have grown a few extra slabs of meat from bulgarian split squats :whoo: feels like I just did a set of BB squats.

Haven't been to the gym since last July and am in as good a shape as I was a few years ago when I was going 4 times a week or more.

I do 500 pushups a day
simple exercises with 25lb dumbells
ride my bike a few miles 3 times a week
jog about 5 miles twice a week or so

Went from 163 in April to 145....as of right now, I'm at my fighting weight of 147

:obama:

the gym is good too but if you can do what you need to at home, then you're straight....you dont need the gym for weight loss or staying in shape....def helps if you looking to bulk up though

I'm trying to drop weight and body fat. Once I get to under 200 i'm gonna try and just get cut.

Right now i'm working on my core, so I'll be able to work out more frequently.
