The perception of Dejounte is changing a lot since he left.

Most people who leave the Spurs either praise the organization (Danny Green) or move on and mostly remain quiet (Kawhi Leonard).

Dejounte really focusing on going after people on social media than worry about his team being down 2-0

Good write up.
I had this feeling when reading it that Amen Thompson could wind up like another Ben Simmons though. Like, if he doesn’t develop an NBA-caliber shot, what good are you? Unless you’re an absolute dog passing the ball and playing defense.

Sounds like what Ben Simmons is now. A lot of physical gifts. But no heart, no shot, and with his injuries…effectively useless.

I hope that doesn’t happen to Amen, no matter where he winds up.

We'll see. I mean we drafted Sochan and let Chip walk within weeks of each other, and so far so good. I trust the organization to help him build a passable jumper.

It also remains to be seen what the narrative is around Miller come draft time.

Brandon Miller is tricky.

The Spurs won’t take him. I think they doubt his character and don’t want the risk.

But Miller is a top tier talent. This could be a situation like Randy Moss or Warren Sapp — where everyone knows they’re amazing but they slip in the draft over rumors or BS. Then 10 years later they’re all-pros and the teams that passed all feel stupid.

Or maybe Miller does something stupid off the court…he’s in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people and he squanders his gifts.

Who knows?

I think the Spurs take a safer player though.
