Drake's credibility is couched in his engagement with black culture. If that shyt became the story and turned into an enduring meme, it would cast a shadow over any engagement he has with blackness in the future.

The content of the excuse is pretty much irrelevant.

I love Drake’s music but I can’t imagine how he thought that blackface pic was OK at ANY point in time. That is the only thing he really can’t come back from. I am white and I recognize that as possibly the worst move he has ever made in a lifetime of corny moves.
