Let Push, Def Jam and whomever else worry about the sales, I just want a dope record. If he gets the critic acclaim he says he will and can at least put up decent numbers, I'm sure the label will be happy with that.

If you really think about it only a handful of acts can still move units....hell, even Kanye fell off terribly from the #s he used to do. Thats how it is across the board. Because they've conditioned people to believe music, specifically hip hop, should be free. Why pay for the album if the mixtape will drop a week or two after the album. And the differences between hip hop and other genres is very thin at times so there's nothing to separate the MC from the pop singer. Same beats and sometimes same lyrics and melodies.
