Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Pharrell wiped the floor with Ye
Beat wise?

Beat for beat?

Don't judge it off song.

How do you think they compare beat for beat?

I ask it this way because Push said that Ye only wanted him to rap rap on his beats while Pharrell was composing more structured and complete songs.

With that in mind i expect Pharrell to have the better songs...

But better song doesn't equal better beat

It's hyped up here because it's hyped up everywhere. That album was praised basically everywhere by fans all over the place, and by critics as well.

It's not just a Coli thing. If you don't like Daytona that's fine, but acting like it's just an album that's popular on The Coli is straight up false.

Pharrell Wins by a nose imo:win:
Ye and Pharrell are my two GOAT producers. I don't think it's a win/lose thing. In all the pre release interviews, Push was pretty clear that each producer was particular about cultivating a specific sound. Pharrell wanted lush melodies, while Ye wanted face scrunching, heaving hitting bars and grime. They both succeeded.

Feel like Pharrell's beats on this hit harder, maybe not in a literal sense but far as what the impact they have on the final product, and are more unique. But the work he does with Push and the Clipse, a lot of it has this sound that's got elements of bright and pop friendly, but it's hazy and got a sinister element underneath. It's perfect for Push's content and rhyme style. And I don't think you can separate quality of song and quality of beat when judging the producer. A good producer's job is not just sell the beat and walk away. It's to provide guidance and help craft the track.

That's not to say Ye didn't do a good job here. He did. Pharrell just outdid him.
