There's no way this album is as dope as twitter is saying if it's only 7 tracks :camby:That's not even an album.

I mean...it's 1 song less than Illmatic which technically only has 8 songs.

My problem with all of this is that the album's promo basically revolves around industry dikk riders and Def Jam employees telling us it's classic. I'm not opposed to reviews or impressions in general...but when you bring in Elliott Wilson/Peter Rosenberg/CTG/etc to listen to an album you know they're going to do what you want: hype it.

I'm sure the same thing is gonna happen with Nas' album in a few weeks. "This is the best Nas album since It Was Written..." just watch. Not saying these people don't like the albums, it's just that they're in a specific demographic that's gonna like these albums regardless and they're going to over inflate things because...Def Jam gave them some nice hotel rooms and took them out to dinner.

Oh I agree, I don't think any of the people who listened to it secretly hate the album. If you're into a certain type of rap and are a certain age, you probably like Pusha T. So Elliot, Rosenberg, etc dapping it makes sense on that level. I'm just talking about the hyperbolic level of praise. "Even Nas said it's a classic." Come on. Then there's the reality that major labels like Def Jam and Interscope don't roll out the red carpet for journalists who Don't Like Things.

No one that gets to listen to an album before every else says the album is bad they all claim it to be dope

It always cracks me up that Push is so goofy in these interviews

I mean, if you catch me sometimes, talking about like the opera, or something else, that someone may think is funny, and it is, but Push spits these grimy dope boy bars

and, comes across like hipster doofus lol
