Yeah well apparently we watch different shyt because I've never seen him not spoken of a luminary recently this decade or last. The thing is he stayed to himself. He stayed out of the public eye. We live in a world where we always want to talk about the new hotness and who's in front of us. Shyt even before Michael passed people weren't speaking glowingly about him either, saying how much he fell off and how it was time for him to hang it up. Then he passed and all that changed. With prince it was the opposite. He was able to completely rejuvenate his career since the turn of the century, selling records and making good music

But be 100 though. How many names are mentioned before prince is and how many should be mentioned before prince?

Prince has the pen of dylan, the riff skills of page, the composition of Q and the vocals of plant....all in one man. He shouldn't be known as no top 10, 15, etc GOAT. He should be top 5 DOA...which I think is what we're getting at.

We're supposed to be rebels in here, not just going along with the masses. There are plenty of artists who should be mentioned above cats who don't get the props, like Prince or in hip hop, Kool G, but that doesn't take away from the greatness and impact. Especially from other musicians which is always the true testament of an artist's impact. It's not publications, its about your peers

1. I agree with not going along...that's why i'm saying what I'm saying. Prince is a top four artist all time imho.

2. At the same time, media sways perception. We know kool g is there with kane, ra and kris. But the younger people won't know that because history is not recording it that way. His music won't be listened to as much in accordance to that.

I'd say the younger generation knows about prince now just because its easier for them to get his stuff now vs us trying to get kool g shyt a decade ago or 15 years ago. a lot esier. b*stards dont know how good they have it.
