This was my problem around discussion about Trey Lance’s athleticism I wasn’t sure what he was as athletic as stated when compared to his competition.

I mean he could very well could be. Its just he's not use to or conditioned versus NFL speed/live games. Thats a different beast. Going against a great defense in practice could help identify that. And tbf if he's not getting around Bosa in practice.....well there arent too many QBs that can.

There's still hope for Trey. You could have have never told me Josh Allen would be dominating teams running like he is. Trey gotta adjust.

Fields/McCaffrey would be scary right now though. Even though he's not a pure scheme fit.

"turnover worthy" is a garbage stat. You cannot assume a turnover. There's too much variance to the "why?" of the outcome..

Plus... jimmy was a turnover machine esp. in the playoffs so Purdy isn't adding to that..

Silver said Trey has been accurate, but not consistent. However, in terms of athleticism he said Kyle and crew thought he'd be more athletic than he is. He said they run up the gut because they are not sure he could get outside like Fields. Said blame scouting for thinking Lance could do that. Just cause he did it against Montana State doesnt mean he could have did it against the SEC/NFL.






@FakeNews Fields had no problem running a 4.4 at his pro day. Lance tried to do a Lamar/Kyler not run the 40, but those guys showed elite speed again Bama/LSU when they played. Their speed was clear.

Lance got burst. He just moves like a guy who isnt use to running against guys faster than him. No craftiness to his runs, just lumbers a bit like no one is gonna hurt him.

I always thought he had good straight line speed but not shifty.

It takes everyone time to adjust but his period of adjustment may be even longer with not playing much combined with not playing with or against much NFL talent. I have been on the record about wanting fields with many of the issues I saw with Lance coming to pass but I still want the kid to succeed but I think Kyle had unrealistic expectations and that is setting him up to fail
