here is my hardcore band (i am the singer) http://illegalspgh.bandcamp.com and this is our demo.
here are some things on my phone right now. i will be adding to this thread regularly.
INFEST - any and all. Slave, No Man's Slave, both 7"s.
BLACK FLAG - 1982 Demos (as a five-piece with chuck biscuits on drums)
COCK SPARRER - Shock Troops LP, True Grit LP
COLD AS LIFE - 88-93 Demos (this band is hard as fukk, detroit scumbag HC, demos sound like DISCHARGE meets BLITZ)
CONVERGE - When Forever Comes Crashing LP (seen this band like 10x but i like this LP)
CRASS - Feeding of the 5000 LP
DESPERATE BICYCLES - all the singles, this is UK DIY.
EDDY CURRENT SUPPRESSION RING - Primary Colours LP (australia's current best band.)
EYEHATEGOD - some people call this band sludge but this is basically the most rudimentary HC a drug addict can muster)
LIFE STINKS - my buddy's new band from SF. recommended if you like THE GERMS and VU.
MAJOR ACCIDENT - classic Clockwork Orange style oi!/punk. very catchy.
MIND ERASER - Glacial Reign LP (destructive boston HC/metal/powerviolence/sludge)
THE NIXE - belgian all-female 1970's punk. lots of tracks.
NO COMMENT - Downsided EP. this is the best hardcore 7" of the last 25 years. this is the only video i am posting.
PLUTOCRACY - Dankstahz LP + Snipin' Pigz LP (west bay intense grindcore, lots of samples and riffs that will crush you into your seat. recommended for weed smokers.)
REAL KIDS - all. classic 1970's proto-punk from boston. real rock n' roll. too much heroin. "whoops".
RUDIMENTARY PENI - EP's of RP LP. classic outsider punk. great tunes, concepts, artwork, etc. singer nick blinko is a diagnosed schizo. open your mind.
SKREWDRIVER - All Skrewed Up LP. CLASSIC '77 punk/oi! - don't let the later racist shyt from the 80's sour you on this PERFECT debut LP.
SWELL MAPS - ALL TRACKS. this shyt is all godhead. A Trip to Marineville + Jane From Occupied Europe LPs. youtube both "let's build a car" and "helicopter spies".
TEMPLARS - the only american oi! band that matters.
WIPERS - it's winter. you know what to do. i recommend "over the edge" and "youth of america".
thoughts on other things posted:
1) i hate Dead Kennedys but "pull my strings" is their best song.
2) NEGATIVE APPROACH is amazing but the current lineup is LOL @ best. brannon doesn't even enunciate words anymore.
3) i saw THE STATE in a tiny room after havoc reissued the 7". "not bad".
4) DEEP WOUND rules.

Nice. Big fan of the Real Kids. I'm not quite old enough for a lot of those bands (but I am old) ... so it never ceases to amaze me how many great punk/power pop/garage outfits there were in from the late 60s to the late 80s.
I've sort of started collecting the vinyl of these eras, and the best part is there's no reason to dwell on ultra-rare and valuable records -- there are a million hidden gems out there for sale.

Creem can do no wrong. That Wetbrain demo was pretty good. I think they have an LP coming out soon? Bad Noids is another newer Clevo band I really like

^ Personally couldn't really get into Boston Strangler. The hype for that band was insane
Ahh, that's right. PKR is such a solid label. The Prisoner Abuse LP is one of my favorite records in the last few years. That Violent Reaction LP was pretty good as well

i'm more of an emo type of due and i like theat authentic shyt, not the overly produced nonsense.
i just found out about this band an i can't get off of all their shyt. new album out next month.
"you blew it!" is mos def my favorite new shyt. say anything is my favorite of all time.
edit: i saw minor threat in the OP and i figured emo was fair game. they were harcore tho. i fukks with them and fugazi. i like repeater but there's another album i loved but i lost it. can't think of the title, tho.

but do you guys know about Old Man Markley?
basically, they were a punk band that somehow became a bluegrass band. They are on Fat Wreck Chords.
I'll refrain from posting tracks in case they violate the spirit of this thread. But I think they're a cool band (one of my top drinking buddies is mostly into jam band type stuff, and I like rap and punk -- so this is where our paths cross).

But, had to up for Mike Atta. Founder of The Middle Class. Fell victim to cancer on Easter Sunday.
Without his band, west coast hardcore is not the same. Legend has it that The Middle Class helped inspire Keith Morris to start Black Flag. Huge impact.
