Most people never take risks, so most people never escape mediocrity.

I've got to travel and have lots of sex and meet lots of famous and interesting people because I took risks that paid off, but at other times I've been evicted and lost relationships and jobs, had cars reposessed, all sorts of shyt... cause I took risks that didn't pay off.

So don't feel bad that you took a risk that might have burned you this time, cause one day you might find yourself in a state you don't live in surrounded by fans and vips and champagne and flashing lights, and you will be able to trace it all back to a single instance where you took a risk and did something everyone else thought was stupid or would never work.
