it was the standard contract for new artists..unfortunately TLC situation is worst because THEY WERE NOT SONGRWRITERS...
At least with a rapper you can hold some leverage as a publisher since you wrote the material
TLC was CREATED..they weren't SELF MADE ...
And consider you had 3 bosses eating off of you....
Pebbles had them signed to a production deal
LA Reid was the Imprint which signed them to a record deal
Clive Davis signed them to a distribution deal...
they lucky they got even that 50g's they were talking about..
them broads bought nothing to the table in order to bring about a more lucrative situation...
along with their bad business decisions....if you look at that clip....T-BOZ admits to spending 75 thousand dollars on just baby clothes for one child

its common, artists been getting stuck up for shows and royalties for decades. that's they like to keep many of them intoxicated so they won't be razor sharp in counting their money.

dude you ain't even gotta keep these artists intoxicated or inebriated to exploit them..hell most of them were SOBER when they signed the deal

she was told NO...so like a SMART GIRL...she DECLINED TO SIGN THE SLAVE CONTRACT
them hoes in TLC was just thirsty just like most of these negroes who sign for these bullshyt advance payments but in the long run REGRET all the BACK END royalties they not getting
not ACCORDING to the contract they signed...and THEY KNOW THEY DON'T DESERVE IT...

TLC was a brand which was the result of the investment and creativity of others besides T BOZ, CHILLI and LEFT EYE
they were just PERFORMERS ......and sorry but PERFORMERS who don't write songs, and don't own their publishing and have no capital to fund their project are at the BOTTOM OF THE BARREL when it comes to revenue....
