Puff is right when he says that the president is obligated to look out for the people that got him into office, and Obama did just that; the people that got him into office were those financial institutions that gave him the hundreds of millions of dollars to fund his campaigns. And he has definitely paid them back during his years in office.

People also need to understand that the political process doesn't end after a president is elected. It takes a consistent effort to affect real change. We have to keep up the pressure and make sure our needs are addressed. We can't just expect politicians to listen to our concerns without any effort on our part.

People need to realize that you can never trust any politician. You have to support the cause or the idea, not the man or woman who is promising to enact it.

People are absolutely correct to point out that the GOP has made it their number one goal to never do anything that can lead to the president enacting his objectives, etc. But don't forget that for a while after the inauguration Obama had control of Congress as well. And there were many opportunities during that time for him to push legislation that would have really helped the working class in this country but his timidity in the face of the financial class weakened his resolve.
