what about color hair and facial features? They tell a story don't you think? There tons of latinas that looks just like her and more that are darker. They claim to be white sometimes too. Culture dictates this.

They do but for Latinos many of them do have a larger percent of white ancestry. There was a Mexican girl who I used to work with who took a DNA test and it came back mostly white. She looks "ethnic" but she is mostly white. I think people have been brainwashed to believe dark hair and eye means someone has to be non white when in reality there are more white people with brown hair and eyes and curlier hair than Asian people. If they have more black then they are black. If they are multi racial they are multi racial it's just that simple. I just don't understand the confusion.

Theyre not c00ns. There are dark skinned latinos on the west coast who are on some brown power shyt still hate blacks. Disliking people of a different ethnic background does not a c00n make

I think a lot of these problems stem from us blacks wanting to be accepted from these groups who despise of us.. which leads me to believe that we need to create a new code of conduct that builds self respect within all of us which in turn will yield respect from others..

We need to quit putting other races and light skin tones on a pedestal; this only fuels the narrative that light is right and at the same time insinuating that black is not worthwhile.

I think most (or to be fair, many) black people are aware of this colorism problem among latinos. Especially if they have latino friends or significant others.
Many times the latino friends are apologetic to the black friends for their family/parents' bigotry. It's not enough though.

A big issue is that many of us latinos who don't subscribe to that old bigoted thinking do not do a good job of checking others in our community of that bigotry.
