I think a lot of these problems stem from us blacks wanting to be accepted from these groups who despise of us.. which leads me to believe that we need to create a new code of conduct that builds self respect within all of us which in turn will yield respect from others..

For NYC dudes, how common is the breh/Latina pairing out there? Everytime I visit there, I seem to see that pairing heavy when I'm out and about, and also find a lot of random, young Latinas eye-fukking me. Candidly, I'm a little surprised at how unaware Boyce was of this. At least as he was growing up.

I think most (or to be fair, many) black people are aware of this colorism problem among latinos. Especially if they have latino friends or significant others.
Many times the latino friends are apologetic to the black friends for their family/parents' bigotry. It's not enough though.

A big issue is that many of us latinos who don't subscribe to that old bigoted thinking do not do a good job of checking others in our community of that bigotry.

I thought I was the only one that notice this. When talk to PRs in Orlando about ATL its always. The Caribbean Latinos in Florida won't even go to NYC quiet as kept. And they hate Nuyoricans with a passion. They are scared to be seen as Mexican or Black.

In central Florida the Latinos have shut blacks of the barber business.These Dominican and Puerto Ricans barber won't hire black barbers! Can you imagine that? A black man can't get a job cutting hair.

A girl took me 2 meet her family once and they thought I was Dominican so they kept speaking 2 me in Spanish. My Spanish is on permanent struggle setting so ince I couldn't follow anymore I said as much.

They asked me why I didn't know Spanish/ What was I.

I told em I was Black and I kid u not one by one each passed on until none would even speak 2 me anymore. It went from everyone showin luv and highly sociable 2 completely ignoring me altogether. The with them is very real my nikka.
