Their culture is mixed. Native, African and European (Spaniard).

But the Taino influence isn't as strong as 1 might think......due to the fact Columbus committed near genocide against them. They replaced the Taino w/ Africans and the remaining indigenous fled in2 the woods. They still exist outside of general PR society so no real way to get a consensus on how many Taino in PR there actually are. The Spaniards mixed with Africans via sexual abuse thus the average Puerto Rican is mulatto. Mulatto in America=Black. It's important to note this bcuz one of the ways BlackTinos especially Caribbean ones go about denying African roots is by overstating supposed Indigenous roots.

c00ning BlackTino : I'm not Black I'm Taino, thats where I get my color from":mjpls:

I stopped goin to this latin spot in my city cuz of those fakkits in there gettin jealous startin shyt. i still ended up wit some latina ass at the end of the night so it is what it is.

A girl took me 2 meet her family once and they thought I was Dominican so they kept speaking 2 me in Spanish. My Spanish is on permanent struggle setting so ince I couldn't follow anymore I said as much.

They asked me why I didn't know Spanish/ What was I.

I told em I was Black and I kid u not one by one each passed on until none would even speak 2 me anymore. It went from everyone showin luv and highly sociable 2 completely ignoring me altogether. The :mjpls: with them is very real my nikka.

:sas1::myman::mjlol: It's ok tho cuz I was still in they females guts

There is a serious colorism problem in Latino countries. Black people in all those countries whether PR, DR, Colombia, Honduras, Ecuador etc are treated as a permanent underclass. That is the problem and they know that is the problem, however, nothing is being done in those nations to alleviate the suffering of black folks there. I notice that many latinos are uncomfortable talking about this topic of how afro latinos in their own lands are facing racism and colorism. There is a few willing to speak out about it.

You must be from Brooklyn or Queens. When I stayed in NY they were the only ones that were suspicious of Latinos. Harlems nikkas always had one on creep though.
Harlem crews always have Latinos in them because they all live together. Bronx too

Blacks in BK and Queens live in 80%+ black neighborhoods so it's different
point being all their 'culture' is actually african which they don't like to discuss.

Idk

I know that this is true but in my personal experience most Ricans I've met always make a point in saying they and their culture are Spanish AND African and Taino

As a black man I've prolly had more latin ass than many latin niccas so this subject is one I'm very educated in. Latin females will definitely mess with light skinned niccas. Me being light skinned has allowed me to eat VERY good from that Hispanic selection. Hispanic females (and their fam) are just color struck to a degree that us as black folks dealt with amongst ourselves 40-50+ years ago. They're still firmly stuck in that shyt.

:sas2: but would they let you marry one of their daughters

My wife is Mexican. Mark me as a "c00n" or whatever, I don't care. You can even say that I'm "caping". I'm not ashamed at all. My In-Laws and her family show me and my son (my wife's and I child) nothing but love. They are a traditional Mexican family. Her parents don't even speak English (I speak Spanish, though). If I was ever even down on hard times or needed something, I know for a fact that they would look out for me. When they introduce me to other people, they proudly announce me as their son-in-law. I've been to parts of Mexico that make Chicago look like Disneyland (my wife is from Ciudad Juarez). Still nothing but love. Parties, fiestas, whatever, I'm in the cut chopping it up drinking Coronas, Bud Light and Tecate with everyone else. I can only speak for myself. I see dudes like myself with Mexican women all of the time. Idk about their situations, but mine is good. My family accepts and loves my wife the same way. I've noticed that it's other countries/cultures like Dominicans, and Puerto Ricans where colorism is more prevelant. They want to be anything but Black. Colombians, Venezuelans, and Cubans aren't really like that (from what I've experienced). Call me a "c00n" or mark me, doesn't phase me one bit. I'm still Black at the end of the day.
