We really need an offensive coach. The defense era in Tampa is over for at least a decade. Time to bring in someone who can coach to jameis strengths. If lovie gets canned mid season I wouldn't mind seeing how koetter does as an interim HC.

Its the lovie smith identity of the team that's holding the offense back. Koetter isn't gonna let Jameis run an uptempo offense out of the shotgun as long as he's working for lovie. Making him the interim HC would give him the freedom to do what he wants and not have to worry about keeping conservative lovie happy.

There's a reason lovie has had like 6 OC's in 10 years. Teams run the offense based on his philosophy. When jameis was allowed to play faster, the offense looked good. But lovie wants him to be a game manager. You gotta have a dominant defense and O-line to make that happen. We have neither.
