By The Time I Get To AZ drops and that shyt was like the last straw:beli: Video got pulled......But wait, Cube come through n drop Death Certificate in the same muthafukkin month or damn near close if I ain't mistaken.......That just a smidgen of the late 80's - 91 and we aint even hit the muthafukkin riots yet in 92.......Precursors like a mafukka :whoo:

Y'all remember when PE won album of the year for Apocalype on the Soul Train music awards? Can't remember the other nominations, but when they won....damn, it was beautiful. I remember Chuck holdin the award up sayin somethin along the lines now this is justice:wow:

Those years 80's to early/mid 90's will never be forgotten and the music should ALWAYS be celebrated and passed on. Its our lil Motown run....A legacy solidified where soul on top of soul that was built upon from the music in the 50's 60's n 70's, heavy influence in those early hip hop years. Hard livin, hard voices, where you could hear what them OG cats was singin was straight from the heart n soul.

Always a thought in the back of my head that the music was getting too powerful around that time. Like there were real messages in the music. A Pride. Like some real deep level feelings people were communicating through music. No internet. Messages travelled through tapes. I think certain folks saw the potential and said "fukk that we gotta water down and commercialize this shyt and keep people dumber than dumb." Monitor this shyt and make sure NO TYPE of information rebelling against the Dominant Society gets out.

20 yrs later and we have "My nikka, my nikka........My nikka, My nikka" on mainstream radio. It's like they learned all they need is to have a certain rhytm to the beats and put it through the mastering and people will jam to anything. literally. It's like the message is "You don't even have to know how to read, write, spell or any of that shyt to win black people, just jig over a catchy beat, if you can put something in there promoting drugs and degeneracy even better."

But that's just me with my far out conspiracy theories.

I remember the first time I heard the song...the opening beat and Sista Souljah talking had me like :ohhh:...then the beat hit and it was :blessed:. PE could do no wrong back then. Even Terminator X dropped a classic during that time.

Man I played the shyt out that tape!!!! Buck Whylin, Juvenile Delinquentz, Andreas 13:russ:

:wow:I'm not a concert person, but I paid to see them in concert a couple years ago. It was like a family reunion. All the brothers asking me if I'm Earth. Good times.

Ridiculously powerful record.

I learned so much from those PE records as a kid. We could use that kinda shyt today.

Today is all about the "melody" and talking about lean :beli:

PE is getting erased by these nikkas, that hated their message. Mainly the "street" heads that don't utter a word about black empowerment and secretly on that :mjpls: crap.
